Fairs at Chelsea Physic Garden

Chelsea Physic Garden Summer and Winter Fairs

Chelsea Physic Garden usually has two annual fairs which are its main fundraising events. The fairs are special days in the Garden's calendar. Normally a calm and tranquil place, the Garden transforms into a vibrant throng of smiling faces and old fashioned ware-selling.

The focus of the Summer Fair tends to be Garden and Outdoor life. From home-grown plants, to ornamental pots, gardening equipment and general gardenalia to numerous food stalls, summer clothes and homeware.

The Christmas Fair is the perfect opportunity to stock up on presents and wonderful seasonal produce. From home-made wreaths, Christmas cakes, jams and Christmas cards to unusual Christmas presents and gifts. In addition to the stalls, the Fairs offer wonderful family days out with numerous activities for children of all ages including face painting, storytelling, educational workshops and treasure hunting. Tangerine Dream Cafe opens as usual with additional food stalls throughout the Garden.

In 2007 the Summer Fair raised £21,000 towards a new irrigation system which the Garden desperately needs. The 2007 Winter Fair in turn raised £17,417 towards a borehole to ensure a constant water supply. If you would like to support the Fairs please contact us.
