Educational Volunteers

Chelsea Physic Garden has a thriving Education Department that inspires over 3000 children per year about the uses of plants in their lives. The Education Department is currently run by one member of staff and is looking to expand the services offered by recruiting regular education volunteers to support many different roles within the department. Volunteers can be office-based, Garden-based or home-based; all we ask is commitment and reliability.

Some activities include:

• Leading Garden tours for visiting school groups
• Supporting school groups to do self-led activities
• Supporting education staff with pond dipping, and planting activities including ‘Shelf Life’
• General support with mail outs and the promotion and delivery of outreach
• Promoting the organisation Advising projects

April 2008: All the vacancies for educational volunteers have been filled for the time being.
