Mapping Queer Desires

Friday 27 February 2026, 1pm-3pm
£20

As a part of our A Dash of Lavender programme where we mark LGBTQ+ History Month, we welcome you to this workshop, mapping queer ecological desires in the city.

Exploring how queer desires have so often been suppressed and how nature in the city has been disregarded, this will be a space to reimagine the city full of queer love and deep connection with ecology.

Through movement, drawing, collaging, and learning collaborative mapping techniques, you will have the opportunity to connect more deeply to your own queer desires for ecology, as well as explore how we can build more meaningful relationships through support networks.

Together we will sow the seeds of desire lines, queer design methods, and explore how we can increase our access to nature in the cities for queer communities and beyond.

About Mattie:

Mattie (they/them) is an ecological landscape architect, writer and gardener exploring how we can live better together on this fragile planet. Working with the land and communities, they are exploring how queer methods can help us bring us to live more intimately with the more-than-human world.
