Thursday 8th August, 7-8pm

Kumud Gandhi is the founder of The Cooking Academy and has cooked for a range of high-profile clients, including HRH the Prince of Wales, The Oxford Union and the Palace of Westminster.

Her book A Cupboard Full of Spices is designed to help readers get to grips with spices, their characteristics, health benefits and practical uses in cooking, alongside over 100 fantastic Indian recipes.

Kumud’s talk will explore ‘The Spice Trail’ – the history and origins of spices and their importance in the global trade around the world, charting the use of spices in modern medicines and in culinary use for good health.

The presentation will be highly interactive and include a demonstration on spice blending, and sample tasters for the audience.

For supper, The Physic Garden Café will be serving Channa Masala (vg) using Kumud’s recipe from her book A Cupboard Full of Spices.

During the year, we will be exploring the theme 'Food is Medicine' through workshops, family activities, supper talks and more. To stay informed, sign up to our mailing list or become a Friend of the Garden

The £17 ticket price includes the talk and entry to the Garden. The £34 ticket price also includes supper after the talk.
