Thursday 3rd October

In her new book Root to Stem, medical herbalist Alex Laird makes the case for using every edible part of a plant – including leaves, skin, seeds and stalks – in order to take greater control over health and well-being, and contribute to the sustainability of the planet.

Travelling through the four seasons, Alex will explore the natural ingredients available on your doorstep, share simple recipes and easy-to-make herbal remedies, give tips on how to forage, grow or shop for plant-based foods and products, and reveal how plants reconnect us to our own and nature’s rhythms. Prepare for plant tasting!

For supper, The Physic Garden Café will be serving Mujadarra (vg) using a recipe adapted from Alex’s book Root to Stem.

During the year, we will be exploring the theme 'Food is Medicine' through workshops, family activities, supper talks and more. To stay informed, sign up to our mailing list or become a Friend of the Garden.

The £17 ticket price includes the talk and entry to the Garden. The £34 ticket price also includes supper after the talk.
