Photographing Winter Flowers with Sue Bishop

Spend the day photographing Winter flowering plants with expert advice on composition, light and techniques to help you develop your skills and capture these winter beauties in the Garden.

Please bring with you the following:

• your DSLR camera
• spare batteries
• tripod and cable release if you have one (not essential)
• a macro lens if you have one, otherwise a standard or telephoto lens/zoom lens
• a reflector, or an A4 piece of white card
• warm clothing!

Just in case we have a rainy day, if you would like to bring a dozen flower images on a USB stick, we can share them with the group for some constructive feedback.

Tickets £108 and includes refreshments and a light lunch.

  • 9.45 – 10.30        Early arrival, should you wish to wander in the Garden before the course begins.  Hot drinks will be served in  the café.
  • 10.30 – 11.00  Welcome and introductions in our Education Room
  • 11.00 - 11.30   Presentation about the principles of flower photography
  • 11.30 – 1.00    Practical session in the Garden
  • 1.00 – 2.00  Lunch (a light lunch will be provided: this will be a savoury gruyere cheese tart served with a mixed side salad)
  • 2.00 – 3.00    Practical session in the Garden
  • 3.00 - 3.30   Tea and cake break
  • 3.30 - 4.30   Review and feedback on participants’ photos
