Delicious Garden Drinks with Rachel de Thample & Ciara Roberts
Thursday July 19th 2018, 6-8pm
Spend the evening learning how to brew up delicious (and healthy) drinks from seasonal garden produce. Rachel de Thample who teaches preserves at River Cottage and wild food cookery at Made in Hackney will take you on a delicious tasting tour of drinks she’s brewed up with freshly harvested fruits, flowers and herbs such as Elderflower Kefir, Wild Cherry Kombucha and Rhubarb Ginger Beer. Rachel will be joined by nutritional therapist Ciara Jean Roberts who’ll provide insight into the health benefits of each of the drinks has to offer. By the end of the evening you’ll know how to make your own and how to use them to make you feel amazing.

Please note, when you book the talk the £17 ticket price includes a glass of wine (or soft drink) and entry to the Garden. Please book your supper separately (also £17 per person) - we will have sittings at 5.45pm and 8.30pm.

The meal will be a mixed buffet as well as a dessert.


The talk itself is from 7-8.15pm

About the speakers
Rachel de Thample has worked in the kitchens of Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal and Peter Gordon. She is the author of Less Meat, More Veg (Kyle Books), FIVE (Ebury), Tonics & Teas (Kyle Books) and has served as Commissioning Editor of Waitrose Food Illustrated and Head of Food for the pioneering organic box scheme Abel & Cole. She lives in Crystal Palace, London, where she has helped set up numerous local food initiatives, including the award-winning Crystal Palace Food Market. Rachel currently  teaches preserving courses at River Cottage in Devon, wild food cookery and preserving at Made in Hackney, runs Market Table pop-up dinners and writes for Locavore and The Simple Things magazines.

Ciara Jean Roberts is a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist, 500 hour Yoga Teacher and Writer. She founded her passion, Wholly Aligned, five years ago after stepping away from a hectic career in banking. Through the wisdom of yoga and nutrition, Ciara works with people to help each person embrace their own true healthfulness. She is currently completing her first book charting her amazing personal health journey and the teachings she has received from her own kidneys. She very much advocates taking responsibility for one's own health in order for each person to feel as empowered as possible. She has featured in a number of publications including Yoga Magazine, Journal of Kidney Care and Top Sante. She lives in Crystal Palace.
