Inspired by the colours of the Garden

Friday 25th September, 10am-4pm

Join Mary Crabb for a one-day course of stitching, capturing the colours of the Garden. Mary will teach the technique of coiling to enable the making of a colourful stitched vessel. Coiling involves the stitching and wrapping of threads around a core, in this case, coloured cotton rope.

Processes covered will include joining of threads, a variety of stitches to create detail and developing a form. Each vessel could incorporate some beautiful wool yarns as well colourful synthetics too. Makers will be encouraged to think about their use of colour and pattern. This will result in each vessel having its own unique qualities. At the end of the day, it is anticipated that each maker will have completed a small coiled vessel and will have learnt some basic textile basketry skills.

Ticket price includes lunch, refreshments and all materials
