With over a century of constant use, our Victorian glasshouses have become fragile and are in need of significant restoration. Chelsea Physic Garden has launched a fund-raising appeal to restore the glasshouses to their former glory and preserve them for at least a further 50 years.

So far, with your support and a generous legacy we have raised the £250,000 towards the first stage of the restoration project. We will be seeking approval from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to move to the second stage of the project. Any funds donated now will got towards our £1.5m target to complete the restoration. We have raised £233,500 of this amount already!

Our project will help us to:

  • Provide the space and environment for our important plant collections to flourish
  • Cultivate new plants and build on our collections
  • Share the importance of our plants and bring their stories to life.

Once restored, we will host events and activities aimed at schools, the local community, and a wide variety of visitors.
