Chelsea Physic Garden has a thriving Education Department that teaches over 5,000 children every year (on-site and off-site) about the importance of plants to their lives. The Department is currently run by two members of staff and depends on educational volunteers to support the many different activities delivered. Volunteers can be office-based, Garden-based or home-based. All we ask for is commitment and reliability.

Activities include:

  • Leading Garden tours for visiting school groups
  • Supporting school and family groups with their self-led activities
  • Supporting education staff with activities such as pond-dipping and seed planting
  • Researching and preparing resources for workshops
  • General support with administration, record keeping, monitoring and evaluation

We are also looking for volunteers to support our Sunday activities.
