Family Halloween: Build a Beastly Bog Garden
Create your own miniature bog garden and discover the curious plants that thrive in wet and watery worlds.
In this family workshop, children and their grown-ups will venture into Chelsea Physic Garden’s Glasshouses, where tropical plants hang overhead and carnivorous plants grow among moss and damp-loving greenery.
Along the way, you’ll discover what makes bog plants so unusual, why some carnivorous plants catch insects and how these extraordinary species survive in places where other plants struggle.
You’ll then create your own miniature bog garden using a carnivorous plant, mossy textures, soil and natural materials—building a small wild world to take home.
What to Expect
Begin with a family-friendly exploration of the Garden’s Glasshouses before getting hands-on with soil, plants and natural materials.
Every ticket holder will have the opportunity to create a miniature bog garden, so grown-ups can make one too! This can be a messy activity, so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
