Mary Ellen’s love for flora and fauna began in the Galapagos Islands and The Andes before she studied botanical painting with The English Gardening School at Chelsea Physic Garden. She was the Diploma Course Manager at The English Gardening School for 7 years and also painted in her spare time. Most of her artwork focuses on the plant’s relationship to its habitat, from places close to her heart. Mary Ellen is a practicing artist and delivers courses and workshops in London and for Heckfield Place in Hampshire.
In 2020 Mary Ellen became the Chair of the Chelsea Physic Garden’s Florilegium Society.
