Storytelling with Sally Pomme Clayton – Chelsea History Festival

Saturday 24 Sept, 10.00am – 10:30am & 11:30am - 12pm
Free

Join author and performance storyteller Sally Pomme Clayton as she re-tells Hans Christian Andersen’s enchanting fairy tale, accompanied by a selection of sounds, songs and strange musical instruments.

Meet swan maidens, talking storks, oak trees that have seen everything, shield maids and the beastly king who lives at the bottom of a rattling bog.

The story shifts across time and space, from the marshes of the Nile to a vast bog in Denmark. It follows the migration of birds and reveals the significance of bogs in the lives of humans throughout history.

Session times:

  • 10.00am – 10.30am
  • 11.30am – 12.00pm

Tickets are free and includes entry to the Garden that day. This event is planned to take place outside in the Garden
