Family Activities at Chelsea Physic Garden

Explore, create and have fun with our range of family activities, from exploring the world of mini-beasts to learning how to make your own herbal remedies and chocolate blends, we have something that will inspire and engage a range of ages.

These events will take place in all the school holidays in 2018 (except the Christmas Break).

They cost:

£11 per person for a half day events
£15 per person for full day events

Please note:

Children must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult (the 3 events for teenagers are an exception to this).
There is no discount for Friends of the Garden.

Garden Steward volunteers

Are you a people person dedicated to a high standard of customer service, who would like to spend time in London’s oldest botanic garden? We are looking for a team of friendly Stewards to be a welcoming presence in the Garden and help give our visitors an unforgettable experience.
Supper talk: The Social History of the Pub

It could be argued that the history of Britain’s relationship with drink mirrors the evolution of the nation, interwoven with themes from colonial and imperial history, industrialisation and social change. After a broad overview of this longer history, the talk will concentrate on the changing fortunes of the pub from the end of the eighteenth century to the middle of the twentieth, examining the reasons for its evolving uses, character and form.
Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane partner with Chelsea Physic Garden to create its seasonal afternoon tea

The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has partnered with Chelsea Physic Garden to create an afternoon tea. The afternoon tea experience begins with the original hot chocolate recipe brought back by Sir Hans Sloane. The Garden Tea follows, with sandwiches, scones and jams made from the finest seasonal ingredients. The sweet selection of pastries inspired by different areas of the Garden, includes ‘Wild Strawberry and Poppy Macaron' and ‘Beehive’.
An Elixir of Letters

‘An Elixir of Letters’ A brand new exhibition of inscriptions and sculptures created by some of the UK's foremost letter carvers. Opens May 2018 at Chelsea Physic Garden.

Tangerine Dream Café

A trip to Chelsea Physic Garden would not be complete without a slice of homemade cake and a refreshing cup of tea in the on-site Tangerine Dream café. Both hot and cold food is served with snacks and both sweet and savoury scones freshly baked throughout the day.

For just £52 you can sign up to join our Friend of the Garden membership scheme, or renew your existing membership. Just complete the registration form. A Friends Membership subscription makes a wonderful gift which lasts all year round and helps preserve this historic garden for future generations.
