The Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has partnered with Chelsea Physic Garden to create its seasonal afternoon tea: The Garden Tea.



The afternoon tea experience begins with a tasting of the original hot chocolate recipe brought back by Sir Hans Sloane, Chelsea Physic Garden’s primary benefactor. The Garden Tea follows, served on a traditional afternoon tea stand with sandwiches, scones and jams made from the finest seasonal ingredients grown at the Garden. The sweet selection showcases Executive Pastry Chef David Oliver’s creativity through pastries inspired by different areas of the Garden, including The Perfume section, British Native Plants and the Beehives.

Highlights of The Garden Tea include David Oliver’s ‘Beehive’ and ‘Wild Strawberry and Poppy Macaron.’ The Beehive is inspired by the small collection of hives at the Garden that produce their own honey in late summer. The pastry combines oats, honey, blueberry and almonds. The hand-painted Wild Strawberry and Poppy Macaron represents the best of British native plants. During summer, Britain produces delicious wild strawberries and poppies that marry perfectly in the macarons.

To accompany The Garden Tea, guests can choose from a special selection of JING teas. The Garden Tea is served daily from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm (last seating at 5:30 pm) in the Amaranto Lounge and starts from £42 per person or £55 including a glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne.

Members of the ‘Friends of Chelsea Physic Garden’ can choose to receive a complimentary glass of Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne when enjoying their tea by showing their membership card.
