EYFS Scavenger Hunt

Discover London’s oldest botanic garden with your nursery or reception class with our Scavenger Hunt Session. Learn to identify the different parts of a plant, what they need to grow, and the importance of plants to everyday life.

Your visit will include a calming, sensory walk around the garden where children will learn about plants, and collect parts of plants from around the garden to make into a piece of art to take home.

Learning Objectives:

Children will:

• Understand and describe parts of a plant.
• Understand what plants need in order to grow.
• Discover plants in the garden with different uses and origins.
• Identify food that comes from plants.
• Appreciate the diversity of plant life.

Important session information:

Please be aware that schools’ EYFS sessions are usually either from  from 10am – 11am or 1pm – 2pm, although we recommend allowing an additional 30 minutes after sessions for collecting belongings, washing hands etc. We will create an itinerary for you based on the availability of our Chelsea Physic Garden educators.
