Chelsea Physic Garden and the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (RB&H) have joined together to present The Art & Healing Power of Plants, a new exhibition that intertwines botanical art, medicine and plants.

This collaborative exhibition reflects upon our complex history with plants, focusing on those used to treat heart and lung conditions. It brings together the RB&H, as the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK and Chelsea Physic Garden, the oldest botanic garden in London.

The works displayed have been created by Chelsea Physic Garden Florilegium Society. They are accurate and intricate scientific records of plant life-cycles, but the incredible skill of the botanical artists also means they can be appreciated as works of art.

Wander through the Garden and discover these highly-detailed works and their living counterparts for yourself. The display continues at the Royal Brompton Hospital, with 15 works hung for public view in their café area.

The exhibition runs until 30th August at both Chelsea Physic Garden and the Royal Brompton Hospital.

The Art and Healing Power of Plants exhibition has been supported by The Goldsmiths’ Company Charity and The Foyle Foundation.
