Uncover the history and uses of the medicinal trees in London’s oldest botanical garden on this special tour with Greg Packman.

About the event

Chelsea Physic Garden is home to thousands of plant species with uses that range from medicine and clothing to tools, shelter and food. The collection includes over 100 species of tree, many of which are rare in Britain.

Pomegranate, avocado, ginkgo and eucalyptus trees can all be found growing here, not to mention Britain’s largest outdoor fruiting olive tree and the world’s most northerly outdoor grapefruit tree.

Arboriculturist Greg Packman will take you on a two-hour tour, revealing the history of the Garden’s many medicinal trees.

About the speaker

Greg Packman is a multi-award winning arboriculturist working in London, specialising in tree management in urban parks. Greg has worked in locations such as Hyde Park, St James’s Park, City of London, Epping Forest, Inner Temple Gardens and Brompton Cemetery amongst other locations. Greg’s work focuses on tree health, tree risk management, landscape management and ecological management.
