The Garden

Nestled in the heart of Chelsea on the banks of the Thames lies Chelsea Physic Garden—London’s oldest botanic garden, spanning four acres of thriving plant life comprising one of the world’s most unique microclimate and biodiversity signatures.

From perhaps the world’s oldest Pond Rockery, to the tropical plants housed in our Victorian Glasshouses; the kaleidoscopic Dicotyledon Order Beds, Ginkgo trees, fragrant Mediterranean herbs, carnivorous and poisonous plants, fruiting olives, palms, pomegranates and the terraces and woodland peripheries that enclose two spacious lawns—the Garden casts an uncontrived and truly beautiful backdrop to an event of any kind, and bestows a character unique amongst any other venue so close to the centre of London.

Whether you are looking to host a summer party, gala dinner, exhibition, product launch, corporate hospitality, or away day; escape the indoors and the grey din of the city, and hold your event in the prospering greenery of our iconic, Grade-I listed grounds. Our central location by Sloane Square, Victoria and King’s Road grant easy transport connections around London and beyond. And our versatile dry-hire and venue buyout possibilities allow a wealth of different traditional or innovative event formats.
