Immersive Drawing with Daniel the Gardener
As part of our year-long programme, A Brush with Nature, where we are celebrating botanical art in all its forms, this special workshop invites you to mark the changing season in the unique surroundings of Chelsea Physic Garden, London’s oldest botanical garden.
Taking place on the Autumn Equinox, this workshop mirrors the quiet shift in the season as we move from outward attention to inward presence. It offers a space to draw, sense, and connect with the plants in the Garden in a way that feels very different from a typical botanical drawing class.
We’ll meet in the last hours of the day, when the light begins to shift and the garden slows down. With gentle music in the background, you’ll be guided to draw using more than just your eyes. Touch, memory, and sensory recollection will shape what appears on the page.
The workshop will be guided by botanical artist Daniel the Gardener , who will share simple tools and personal approaches for creating truly unique botanical compositions.
You’ll leave with a series of drawings and a new way of seeing the plants around you. All materials are included.
Everyone is welcome and no drawing experience is needed.
