Join us for an in-depth masterclass at Chelsea Physic Garden and discover the fascinating world of mushroom cultivation. Whether you’re completely new to fungi or already a keen grower, this session is designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to grow your own edible and medicinal mushrooms at home.

Led by the award-winning Caley Brothers—renowned for their accessible approach to mushroom growing—this masterclass explores three low-cost, beginner-friendly methods:

• Indoor growing on used coffee grounds

• Outdoor log inoculation

• Growing button mushrooms in trays or containers

In addition to live demonstrations, the workshop includes a comprehensive introduction to fungi, covering key concepts in mushroom biology and cultivation. The session concludes with an open Q&A, giving you the chance to ask questions and get tailored advice.

Your ticket also includes entry to Chelsea Physic Garden—London’s oldest botanical garden—where you can explore the beauty of the Garden in its autumnal beauty.

We are the Caley Brothers and we’re passionate about mushroom growing.  At the heart of our business is our farm located in Sussex where we grow a varied and seasonal range of fresh gourmet mushrooms. We have a green and sustainable approach to all areas of our business, striving to use only locally sourced materials, and recycling as we go.

As interest for mushrooms and mushroom growing continues, we have been privileged to work on an array of exciting projects bringing the topic of mushroom growing into the public realm.  More recently we won Gold for our debut display at the RHS Chelsea Flower show.  Where we showcased an array of edible mushrooms.

Alongside our farm we have developed both indoor and outdoor growing kits and creative projects.  Inspired by customer curiosity and the desire to share our growing journey. They continue to be a popular hit for first time growers, and anyone with an interest in mushrooms.
