Twisted Roots: Writing Spring Folklore
As winter loosens its grip, the Garden pushes back. Snowdrops split frozen soil, hellebores and snowdrops bloom in the half-light, and the ground begins to move with intent. Spring does not arrive gently here in London’s oldest botanical garden.
This full-day creative writing workshop invites writers to create folklore for modern times, using the Garden at the moment of awakening as both setting and catalyst. Writing at the threshold between winter and spring, participants will explore plants as active forces, landscapes as witnesses, and growth as something strange, powerful and inevitable.
