Twisted Roots: Gathering
As the year draws on, the Garden begins to slow. Seed pods harden and split, leaves darken and fall, what has grown is gathered and what once flowered turns inward, downwards, back to the earth from where it came. In London’s oldest botanical garden, abundance breaks down into the soil again.
Part of Folklore ReRooted, this full-day creative writing workshop invites writers to create folklore for modern times, using the Garden in autumn as both setting and catalyst. Writing at the point of gathering, participants will explore seed, decay and memory at the moment the darker half of the year begins.
