In October we ran our first Plants have Secrets project. Young people learned about psychoactive plants and how to make films. They found out that psychoactive plants aren’t just illegal drugs. They were shocked to find out that tea and coffee were psychoactive.

The young people made two films. The two groups looked at different styles of film. One group made a factual film, called a documentary. They did interviews. They used voiceovers and animation. The other group told a story and used satire. They made us laugh at the things we think about plants. They also made us laugh at what we think about different people in society.

Take a look at the videos below. We will run Plants Have Secrets again this year so keep your eyes peeled.

This project was made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and all the supporters of our Glasshouse Restoration Project.
