The Gallery

Built originally as a lecture theatre dedicated to the instruction of plant science, the Gallery is an elegant, well-lit indoor space with high ceilings and a south-facing outlook of our Garden.

As a blank canvas space, the room offers a considerable degree of versatility, adaptable to suit any variety of boardroom, classroom, private dining, and away-day layouts. AV, including laptop, projector, microphone and speakers are built-in, and admission to all your guests, within our usual visitor opening hours, is also provided at no additional cost.

The Gallery also currently exhibits the botanical paintings of the Garden’s resident artist, as well as other members of the Florilegium Society.

Our expert in-house Café team, Company of Cooks, can provide a catering service to your specifications. Ranging from tea & coffee, working lunches, drinks & canapes, or premium three course dinners, our food & drink offering is inspired by the the Garden’s 350 year old living collection of herbs and plants, and crafted sustainably on-site from fresh and local produce.

Whether you are holding a fundraising event, workshop, away day, or even a simple working meeting, the Gallery offers a space with a difference. Enquire today, and give your guests, students, or colleagues a step away from the grey din of the City, within the natural beauty of our iconic Grade-I listed grounds.

The Garden

Make full use of our entire four-acre site for your event, and construct a memorable experience for your clients or staff, tailored to your design.

With private access to one of the world’s oldest and most renowned botanic gardens, you can escape the indoors and instead serve drinks and entertain your guests amidst our internationally renowned collection of over 4,500 botanic, medicinal, and even poisonous plants.

From the continent’s oldest rockery garden, to the rare tropical plants flowering in our Victorian glasshouses; the Dicotyledon Beds, Gingko trees, and the wild peripheries and winding pathways enfolding our professionally maintained lawns, the Garden boasts a stunning backdrop to your occasion.
